Upcoming Events
The Miyawaki Method with Kiki Nursery
Date: July 18th, 1:00-2:00
Cost: $25/person
Location: Wildwood Ecoforest, 2929 Crane Rd., Ladysmith
About the event:
KiKi Nursery’s expertise is in ecological restoration, and they will use Wildwood Ecoforest as an intact forest setting to help participants observe natural layering, soil conditions, and ecosystem interactions. The session will begin with a short guided walk through Wildwood’s forest, where these ecological processes will be explored in their natural context. From there, we’ll explore how to bring these forest principles into urban environments to revive degraded spaces, lawns, and compacted soils. Participants will be introduced to core principles, including soil restoration, dense planting of diverse native species, and early-stage maintenance, with an emphasis on locally appropriate materials and realistic timelines for establishment and growth.
No matter the weather, the event will go on! We will not be cancelling due to rain.
About KiKi Nursery:

In addition to offering native plants and seeds, they provide ecological restoration, landscape consulting, and sustainable garden design services. Through workshops, school programs, and community events, they promote environmental stewardship and education about native ecosystems.
